Environmental Initiatives

CFBT’s Ecology & Climate Change Curriculum

CFBT’s Ecology and Climate Change Curriculum empowers students from Grade 1 to 12 to become environmentally conscious “Change Agents.” Designed in alignment with global sustainability standards, it blends ecological literacy with practical, hands-on learning

Foundation Phase (Grades 1–4):

Introduction to ecosystems, biodiversity, and sustainability through stories, nature walks, and simple projects.

Intermediate Phase (Grades 5–8):

Study of climate change, its causes, and real-world issues like pollution and deforestation. Students participate in recycling drives, energy-saving campaigns, and community action.

Senior Phase (Grades 9–12):

Focus on climate solutions, environmental policy, activism, and green careers. Students engage in research, advocacy, and sustainability leadership

The curriculum includes 24 SDG-based activities per year, one per week, covering climate action, clean energy, waste reduction, and biodiversity. Teachers and parents receive orientation, ensuring collective involvement. Students learn the 5Rs: Reduce, Refuse, Reuse, Recycle, and Upcycle—all aimed at fostering long-term ecoconscious behaviour.

By integrating climate education into the regular timetable, CFBT creates a generation prepared to lead sustainable change—locally and globally

CFBT’s Tree Plantation Initiatives

Tree plantation is a core part of CFBT’s ecological mission, reinforcing its commitment to climate action and sustainability

Plantation Drives: Conducted regularly with participation from students, staff, parents, and communities.

Focus: Native, climate-resilient species to enhance green cover, support biodiversity, and improve air quality.

Student Involvement: Hands-on engagement from planting to postcare, encouraging responsibility and ecological awareness.

Initiatives include tree adoption programs and integration of plantation into classroom learning—connecting theory with action. These efforts are showcased on social platforms, inspiring community participation.

Tree plantations also support CFBT’s Zero Wastage School goals and contribute to carbon offsetting, making students active stewards of the environment.

Through these green acts, CFBT plants not just trees, but seeds of lifelong environmental responsibility.
